Firstly, Saudi Arabia is ideologically the main base of Islam where the holy cities of Mecca and Medina are located there. So many Islamic nations have a respectful toward Saudi Arabia.

Secondly, in the geographical aspect, Saudi Arabia is the Widest Islamic country located at the heart of Islamic nations. And it has land or water borders to at least 14 Islamic nations.

Thirdly and Economically, Saudi Arabia is the wealthiest Islamic country in the world. The ownership of large proportion of world oil deposits and besides the large outcome of religious traffic has placed Saudi Arabia among the wealthiest countries in the world.

All these factors have risen up the role of Saudi Arabia. It means that the governors of this country should appreciate these valuable gifts and try to close Islamic nations together to make a powerful union. Saudi Arabia should activate its diplomacy to solve main problems of Islamic world like the problems of Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Sudan.

I doubt if one says Saudi Arabia has played its full role as an elder brother for Islamic nations up to now. A quick look at Islamic world in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Afghanistan reveals the fact that unfortunately Saudi Arabia has not only neglected its high role but also it had worked as a crisis builder for those nations which forgets democratic rules and stands in the way of democratic justice and human rights.

Reform movements in Middle East

The young generation living in Middle East nations thinks and lives differently from their traditional fathers and mothers. They can hardly tolerate traditional customs, rules and values of their governing rulers which have never been updated. They criticize traditions and customs and even some religious beliefs.
Yet the young generation does not want to pay the price of revolutions. They prefer to go forward in a safe and democratic way. But there are some great hindrances which block the way.
First, the modern dictators who feel their power at risk. Second, the United States of America which supports these dictators in different ways.
The common characteristic of Mideast dictators is their close relationship to United States of America. Regretfully In Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Persian Golf, all Arab dictator rulers have a close relationship to US and are supported by west.On the other side none of reform movements in the Middle East are supported by west or US. This is the common characteristic of these democratic movements

What can Iran do, if Israel attacks

If Israel is mad enough to attack Iran as it is heard the condition will be more difficult for Israel, US and even the west.
1- Iran can attack Israel by thousands of Iranian far reaching missiles. Iran has experienced the 8 year war with Iraq and is ready enough to make great bothers for Israel.
2- Iran can close the strategic strait in Persian golf where its oil is vital for developed West. It may risen the oil price to 500$ per barrel. The industrial world is highly dependant to the oil of Iran, Iraq, Emirate, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
3- Iran can attack Israel directly with the assistance of Hezbollah of Lebanon and maybe Syria.

George W. Bush has spent thousands of billions of dollars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but terrorism still exists if not gotten stronger. I'm wondering what would have been likely to happen if US administration had spent this huge amount of money in constructive projects so as to bring some hope to the region? I'm not saying that this alternative could have made it impossible for Bin Ladans to rise again, but it could have eliminated the support ('market share' of public opinions) they enjoy today. George Bush adopted a counter productive strategy, I think

the music of Lorestan - SHAHMIRZA MORADI

Lorestân is in south-west Iran. Until quite recently, it was divided naturally into two parts: the Pish-Kouh (literally, the front of the mountain) and the Posht-Kouh (literally, the back of the mountain). Today, only the Pish-Kouh forms the province of Lorestân, the centre of which is the town of Khorramâbâd; the Posht-Kouh now forms the province of Ilâm.No document about the birth and development of Lorestân music exists. The original instruments used (the sornâ, the dohol and the kemenche) are amongst the oldest in Persia. Reliefs sculpted on stone representing musicians playing the sornâ have been found in Lorestân and the surrounding area. Other clues point to the historically rich past of this music and the central place it holds in the life of the Lor people. For example, the repeated use of Mâhour, one of the oldest modes of traditional Iranian music, or the practice of singing the verses of the poet Nezâmi (12th century).

Shahmirza Morâdi was born in 1924 and lives in the town of Doroud in Lorestân. In this country, a musician's craft is usually passed down through the family. Morâdi very quickly took his place amongst the best sornâ players and acquired great renown throughout Lorestân. In 1971, he began radio work; he then performed at the major cultural festivals in Iran, including those in Shiraz and Tehran. Thanks to the efforts of the Lor musician Ali Akbar Shekârchi, his first recordings were distributed in 1981; they enyojed great success throughout Iran. In 1991, Morâdi performed at the Avignon festival and in the autumn of the same year, his two succcessive concerts in the Châtelet Auditorium in Paris stunned the public and the press, who described him as the "Master of Breath".His son, Rezâ Morâdi has accompanied him on the dohol for approximately fifteen years. Rezâ is also an excellent kemenche player, an instrument he learnt from his father.

1. Sangin Se-pâ (10:12) (literally, three slow steps), also known as sangin samâ (literally, song with the slow rhythm): this is a three-time "adagio" rhythm which suits a calm series of notes and accompanies the movements of the dancers' hands. Due to its slow pace, this dance is appreciated by older dancers.2. Se-pâ (11:40) (literally, three steps): also three-time, this dance is performed by taking three steps forward and one back.3. Do-pâ (11:49) (literally, two steps) is performed to a faster time than "Sangin Se-pâ"; the name of this dance comes from the fact that each foot plays an equally important role. This dance is often performed by those in middle age.4. 'Ashâyeri (19:40) (literally, nomadic). The movement of the arms is vital in this dance, which resembles a Kurdish dance. The two-time rhythm is executed by taking one step forward then one step back.5. Shâne-Shaki (10:25) (literally, shoulder shake). The rhythm of this dance resembles a "se-pâ", but is much faster. The exceptional beauty of the trembling of the dancers' shoulders is a typical feature.6. Savâr-Bâzi (13:56 (literally, the knight's game): this dance, described earlier, is usually played by two instruments: the sornâ and the dohol, or the kemenche and the tombak.

In fact if democracy establishes in these countries, moderate Islamists will gain more than anybody else. They will receive the freedom of activities and get ride of cruel dictators which limits their freedom. here is more concrete examples:In Egypt if a free and just election happens, moderate Islamists will surely achieve at least their minimum rights. Maybe they can win majority of seats of parliament. In Turkey the situation of Islamists is better. Any time that a free election is performed the winner is an Islamic party like Adalat, Fazilat and Refah. And whenever the military forces prevent free election, the Islamists stand in weaker position. In Pakistan if general Mosharaf issue the permission of a really free election Islamists will gain more benefits and the freedom of activity. In Europe Moslems gain a lot of the democratic atmosphere and whenever an undemocratic decision"n like the laws against Hijab" is taken, Islamist will lose more than any body else.Who is against democracy in Islamic countries?1- The dictator rulers who feel unsafe about free democracy. They know that in a free democratic election they won't win.2- The United States of America! It is surprising if one says that the U.S.A is always at the side of dictators and stands against democracy in Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran and any other Islamic country.

Hot news from Iran is coming

Parliament candidates are registering. The 8th parliamentary election will be held in 14 march 2008. Now the candidates are registering during seven days.

Conservatives (supporters of President Ahmadinejad) and reformists (supporters of former president Khatami) are rallying again. Here in Iran like any other country according to law each candidate should have a special characteristics like educational degree and …But the great difference is the super law role of guardian council (12 members).

Aside from many legal references approval, Guardian council can finally decide whether somebody is qualified to be a candidate or not. So they can disqualify many reformists without any further explanation. The Guardian council needs no legal reason for its decisions. So many reformists are not allowed to enter parliamentary election. So in many cities conservatives will have no serious reformist rival to enter the parliament.

Anyway the election will be held in 14 march and the winner will enter the parliament. It is expected that the number of reformists will increase in comparison to previous parliament.

You will hear hot news from Iran in future days. About what guardian council will do on disqualified reformist candidates. The reformists will reject but this usually does not lead to any sensible conclusion.

Iran and China good friends!

During recent years the relations between Iran and China has been developing rapidly. Iran has a basically ideological system and China is originally a communist socialist system of governing. No one expects for close political friendship between these two nations. But in the real world we see that these two countries have put aside their differences and a formed a friendly relationship. WHY?
What joins these two different nations is their relation with the United States. China and the U.S. do not have a reliable relationship because of their different and some times opposite benefits. Also Iranians have a hostile attitude toward the United States and this has along story. U.S. is trying to prevent Iran from its nuclear activities and calls Iran as the supporter of terrorism. U.S president has repeatedly threatened Iran with international economic sanctions and even military operation.
But China not only does not agree any of these choices as the solution for the case but also finds national an economical benefits of China in close peaceful relationship with Iran.

Iranians are not terrorists

Among those who planned and performed 11th September attack to twin towers in New York there were many Arab citizens, Pakistani, European, African and even American citizens but no one had Iranian identity. Even there is no claim that Iran or any Iranian was involved in that terrorist operation.
It is proved that Iran not only has no relation with Alqaede terrorist organization but also Iran is a severe enemy of such organization. There has been no Iranian member in Alqaede. Even once Iranian reporters were killed by Taliban in Afghanistan.
Yet US and west call Iran a terrorist country or a supporter of terrorists. Why?
Here is the answer: Because Iran supports Palestinians in achieving there natural right of existence. Iranians say it's proved that Israel will never give the full right of Palestinians through negotiation or dialogue unless there is equal condition. Yes Iran supports Palestinians, are they terrorists? Do you think there is other solution for the disaster in Palestine?
Iran people and government have never planned or performed any terrorist operation. Yet Iran people and government have the most number of victims of terrorists which are sometimes supported by US and Europe. For example Iran second President (Rajaee) Iranian first parliament (Behesshti) and Iranian priminister (Bahonar) and many anonymous have been killed.

Iran and its neighbors

It is my strong belief that no society may really develop while its neighbors are undeveloped. It is impossible for Germany to have a neighbor like Afghanistan. There should be several countries like Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria and Poland between. .so is the story in Middle East and Islamic world.
It is impossible to establish a developed country in the heart of Middle East while the majority of neighbors are dealing with civil wars and social disasters. Iran cannot really develop while there are permanent wars and unstable conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the fact which many politicians and analyzers neglect.
Today no society can ignore its neighborhood, and if it wishes to really develop it should undertake group work with neighbors. Because it is impossible to build a sky-scraper in a ruined village in a far desert.
Whenever there is a wide civil war in Iraq and Afghanistan the crowd of refugees swarm to Iran borders and d while there is economical disaster in Afghanistan the wealth will escape from Iran an when ever there is a social disaster in a neighbor Iran will naturally suffer. In fact any military and social and economical disaster is contagious. This is the reason "why Iran is worried about Iraq condition. USA President claims that Iran should not middle in Iraq affairs while Iran has its worries and has the right to be worried. But the USA President from a far continent claims to have benefits in Iraq and ignores the right of neighbors in Iraq.

Tourism in Iran

After Islamic revolution in 1979, Iran and Arab states have never had a friendly relationship because:
1- The Iran-Iraq war resulted racial emotion of Arabs against Iran. During this 8 Year war Arabs supported Iraq in different ways.
2- In Iran there was no real will to improve relations with Arab sates. Specially with the idea of exporting Islamic revolution, Arabs got worried.
3- The policy of super power of USA was to create tension among Iran and Arabs in order to provide US benefits in the region.
Today the condition has changed to a point; firstly President Saddam has vanished and there is no war between Iran and any Arab state; secondly Iran has found out that it's better to have closer relationship to Arabs instead of exporting revolution; thirdly Arabs have found out that there is no merit in hostility with their neighbor Iran.
Yet the tensions and plans of US exists and US president is not happy to see Iran and Arabs presidents in a friendly conference and will surely try to create new tensions,

Let's khnow Iranian political parties

Political parties are new elements of politics in Iran. These parties were formed during reformist government of President Khatami But today the ruling government of President Ahmadinejad has a negative view toward the existence of these parties, because most of these parties belong to left wing (reformists). In fact president Ahmadinejad's ruling government does not accept the role of parties in politics because this system is basically western not Islamic (they think so).
Political parties in Iran are usually formed in a situation which they are in power so they lack public support and whenever they stand out of power they lack really strong presence in society and politics.
Iranian main political parties are:
1- Etemad melli (meaning national trust): the head director of Etemad melli is clergyman Karoubi (the speaker of third and sixth parliaments). He himself was the candidate for presidency and placed third after Rafsanjani and Ahmadinejad. Many reformists voted for Karoubi.
2- Mosharekat party (meaning the party of participation) a reformist party formed in former reformist parliament (sixth parliament). This party supported Dr Mostafa Moein in presidency election. Most reformists voted for Moein but he placed fifth.
3- Motalefe party (meaning coalition party) a radical party in right wing close to Ahmadinejad but a little milder. Head director is Hassan Habibi.
4- Nehzat Azadi (meaning freedom movement) a liberal reformist party which has no place in power in Iran after Islamic revolution . Its leader is Ebrahim Yazdi. This party is not legally accepted by ruling government.

Newspapers in Iran

In Iran there is no free media. Satellite is generally forbidden by law. And all TV channels are directed by the radical government of Ahmadinejad and three are no TV or even radio stations unless they are in the hand of radicals. Also many reformist popular websites are usually filtered or closed. What about newspapers?
Iranian reformists have several newspapers which gives them the ability to compete radical newspapers. Of course many of reformist's newspapers are usually banned by radical judgment system. For example during last months two popular reformists newspaper of Shargh and Hammihan were closed by law sentence.

What remain are several very mild reformist newspapers which are not popular and capable enough to influence public opinions. They have to work very timidly not to give any pretext to radical judicial system to avoid being closed. Yet these newspapers are the only channels which contact reformists to the body of Iranian society. they have gained great achivements for Iranian reformists.

Iran needs nuclear power

By Mohammad Sahimi, Pirouz Mojtahed-Zadeh and Kaveh L. One often hears that Iran's real purpose for pursuing nuclear technology is to develop nuclear weapons and that with its huge oil and gas reserves it has no real need for nuclear energy. Even those who should know better claim that Iran, both now and in the foreseeable future, can easily meet its energy needs without recourse to nuclear sources. We would like to demonstrate that these claims lack substance.
First, it is important to bear in mind that Iran's nuclear history pre-dates the current Islamic government. It originated in the mid-1970's, when the Shah unveiled plans to purchase several nuclear reactors from Germany, France and the United States to generate electricity. With Washington's blessing, the Shah's government awarded a contract to a subsidiary of the German company Siemens to construct two 1,200-megawatt reactors at Bushehr.
At the time, the United States encouraged Iran to expand its non-oil energy base. A study by the Stanford Research Institute concluded that Iran would need, by the year 1990, an electrical capacity of about 20,000 megawatts. The first cadre of Iran's nuclear engineers was trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In recognition of Iran's energy needs, the final draft of the U.S.-Iran Nuclear Energy Agreement was signed in July 1978 — several months before the Islamic revolution. The agreement stipulated, among other things, American export of nuclear technology and material and help in searching for uranium deposits.
Second, Iran's present electrical requirements are far larger than had been predicted. With an annual growth of 6 percent to 8 percent in demand for electricity and a population estimated to reach 100 million by 2025, Iran cannot possibly rely exclusively on oil and gas. The aging oil industry, denied substantial foreign investment largely because of American sanctions, has not been able even to reach the pre-revolution production level of 5.5 million barrels per day. Of Iran's 60 major oil fields, 57 need major repairs, upgrading and repressurizing, which would require $40 billion over 15 years. Iran's current production level of 3.5 million barrels per day is increasingly geared toward domestic consumption, which has grown by more than 280 percent since 1979. If this trend continues, Iran will become a net oil importer by 2010, a catastrophe for a country that relies on oil for 80 percent of its foreign currency and 45 percent of its annual budget.
Third, opponents of Iran's nuclear program often argue that Iran should opt for the more economically efficient electricity from natural gas-fired power plants. Such arguments are also not valid. A recent study by two MIT professors indicated that the cost of producing electricity from gas (and oil) is comparable with what it costs to generate it using nuclear reactors — not to mention the adverse effects of carbon emissions or the need to preserve Iran's gas reserves to position Iran in 20 or 30 years as one of the main suppliers of gas to Europe and Asia.
Fourth, why should Iran deplete its nonrenewable oil and gas sources when it can, much like the energy-rich United States and Russia, resort to renewable nuclear energy? Nuclear reactors have their problems, and they will not resolve Iran's chronic shortage of electricity. Yet they represent an important first step in diversifying Iran's sources for energy.
Sadly, with their fear of an Iranian bomb, the United States and some of its Western allies have failed to acknowledge Iran's legitimate quest for nuclear energy, which is important for a meaningful dialogue with Tehran to deter it from expanding its nuclear technology to bomb making.
A small corrective step has been taken by France, England and Germany, whose foreign ministers recently dispatched a letter to Iran promising technical cooperation with Iran's civil nuclear program in exchange for full nuclear transparency. This is wiser than the coercive approach by the United States, which seeks to dispossess Iran of nuclear know-how altogether, and is blind to Iran's energy and security worries.

It is the United States The country which has the most claims for supporting democracy. It sympathetically condemns human right abuse in China but tries to weaken Indian democratic regime.
It supports Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan dictators and forgets the human right issues in these countries and overlooks the fact that in Saudi Arabia women are deprived of the right of driving car. The United States performs a coup against Iranian first democratic government of Mossadegh in 1960.
Anywhere in the world (specially in Islam world) in Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Africa … the great obstacle in the way of democracy is the United States.

Democracy in Iran

Iranian System of governing is different from any other country in the world. we can not call it absolutism because nearly all posts all decided in a (so called) democratic way and by voting different from Arab states. Also we can not call it democratic because there is no really free election in Iran.
In fact the world people are not familiar with Iranian system of governing. Even many of western politicians who are in position to deal with Iranian problems are not familiar enough to make right decision toward Iran and Iranians. They usually make mistakes because they don’t know Iran. For example they didn’t support reformist government of president Khatami and this resulted to radical government of president Ahmadinejad.
In this short writing I will give you some information on Iranian system of governing.
1- The leader is elected by the vote of Khobregan council parliament with about 80 members (all are clergymen) there is no limitation of time for leader. The members of this parliament are elected by direct vote of people.
2- The president is elected by direct vote of people of people for four years.
3- The parliament members are elected by Iranian voters for four years (about 300 members).
4- Guardian council with 12members are decided in this way: six clergymen chosen by the leader and six other jurists chosen by the head of judicial system who himself is chosen by the leader.
What is ambiguous?
Guardian council has the widest realm of power. They can decide which person is qualified or unqualified to be a candidate for Parliamentary election, Presidency election, Khobregan election. They can decide candidates for all elections. They have the responsibility to interpret constitution law.
Reformists in Iran are in the side of free election they are against this system of deciding candidates.

نظر بدهيد

Iran economy today

Iran has a large amount of oil and gas deposits. The developed world is highly dependent in Iranian oil and gas. But Iran has not used this merit to develop its economy for three reasons:
1- Iranian governments did not use it properly, reasonably and economically.
They habitually spent it to compensate their current expenses not economical projects and supporting private section of economy.
2- The 8 year war between Iran and Iraq is the second reason. During those years billions of dollars was spent to run the full sterling war.
3- US-based economical sanction is the third reason which highlighted Iranian dependence to oil instead of trade and industry.
These three reasons have made Iranian economy sick and weak. The advent of president Ahmadinejad made the situation worse. Because his arrogant view toward the outside world has created more tensions. Recently the UN Security Council has condemned Iran for two times. Also president ahmadinejad did not follow the economical scientific rules. Many Iranian economists protested his plans, but he didn’t consider their advices.
The only positive outlook is the extra high price of oil as the result of world economical condition which may save Iranian economy.

Iranian parliamentary election is coming

Four next 4 months the most important topic in Iran is parliamentary election. Again reformists and conservatives are getting prepared for joining in this political competition.
Conservatives or the supporters of President Ahmadinejad use national media (TV) to gain enough public votes to possess majority of parliament seats.
On the other hand reformists or supporters of former president Khatami are in a more difficult situation. They may get disqualified by guard council. Also they lack enough media to make close contact to the public. Of curse reformists can make benefit from the dissatisfaction atmosphere of ahmadinejads political and economical program. Regarding their limitation of media Can they use this tool?

TV is our greatest rival

In fact if democracy establishes in these countries, moderate Islamists will gain more than anybody else. They will receive the freedom of activities and get ride of cruel dictators which limits their freedom. here is more concrete examples:

In Egypt if a free and just election happens, moderate Islamists will surely achieve at least their minimum rights.
In Europe Moslems gain a lot of the democratic atmosphere and whenever an undemocratic decision"n like the laws against Hijab" is taken, Islamist will lose more than any body else.

Who is against democracy in Islamic countries?
1- The dictator rulers who feel unsafe about free democracy. They know that in a free democratic election they won't win.

2- The United States of America! It is surprising if one says that the U.S.A is always at the side of dictators and stands against democracy in Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and any other Islamic country.

The story of benzene in Iran

Recently government made a great decision on benzene. That is each automobile has only a share of 3 liters each day. The taxi drivers were permitted to have a share of 15 to 30 liters each day because of their important role in transportation.
This decision was made because Iranians used to buy benzene about 80 Tomans (about 8 cents). And that cost government about 500 Tomans (about 50 cents) per liter. It is said once Putin thr Russian president in his travel to Tehran asked about the price of a liter of benzene and then he asked about a bottle of water that was about 300 tomans. He concluded that in Iran benzene is cheaper than water!
Today the price of benzene has not changed. But the difference is that each car has a special share and can not exceed this limit. Strangely there is no free benzene because the government is afraid of inflation of prices. They say if we deliver free benzene on its real price (500 tomans) it will affect the price of all goods and services in all over Iran and this will inevitably arise public dissatisfaction against government.
Today many Iranians disagree with this decision, some question the way it is carried out. Others blame taxi drivers who sell their share of benzene instead of using it in the transportation system. This is the main story

Finally negotiation! Iran and US

What has happened? Iran and United States have never had a peaceful day after Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979. They have repeatedly stood in the emergency situation of military war, yet this has never happened as expected. On one side The late leader Ayatollah Khomeini called USA the great devil and on The other hand US president Jorge W Bush has placed Iran in The in the axis of wickedness beside Iraq and North Korea.

But recently a little has changed and it seems that both sides have found it is better to be milder. President Ahmadinejad says we are ready to negotiate on the topic of Iraq. Mr. Larijani reveals of course there is something beyond Iraq affairs, yet be sure we won't compromise over our national benefits.who stands in a higher position in these negotiations?
